I’m a Data & Software Engineer with many hobbies.

Software
I have developed software for computer vision applications, satellite payloads, education platforms, chatbots, and many more.
Data & ML
I have designed and built data processing pipelines for data warehouses, training ML models, and building dashboards and APIs for scientists and product teams.
Maps
I love maps. I am currently exploring GIS tools and techniques for climate-related analyses. Check out my maps portfolio.

My career timeline
I have worked in several software development roles in 6 cities across 3 countries.
Here’s a visual summary of my career path, which I admit is a bit messy and has plenty of side quests. But I am a generalist. I learn widely and deeply, and I value flexibility, continuous learning, and applying my skills to help many different parts of society.

The long story (a.k.a “My CV”)
2014 - 2015
Philippines
I moved to Manila right after getting my Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. I was a Java Developer in Advanced World Solutions, Inc. where I built inventory software for a heavy machinery manufacturer in Japan. In the process, I learned to communicate in business Japanese, which helped me get transferred to client sites and work directly with Japanese clients.

2016 - 2018
Chiba and Tokyo, Japan
For about 2 years I worked as a consultant in various companies (anti-money laundering systems, precious metals trading platforms), building automations and sometimes writing software specs in Japanese.
2018 - 2019
Tokyo, Japan
I was taking MOOCs in Natural Language Processing to learn AI skills for a few months until I had the chance to work with an e-commerce conglomerate in Tokyo. I worked in the team that trained their first chatbots in entertainment, banking, sports, and even romance conversations.

And then I moved to the UK...

2019 - 2020
Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, United Kingdom
I joined Accenture UK as an AI specialist. I built machine learning classification models to help tech support teams triage customer issues. This relieved them of long triage queues and enabled them to focus on resolving high-priority problems.
2020 - 2021
During the pandemic, my role had to adapt to the changing business. I taught myself cloud technologies in AWS and applied my new skills on migrating on-premise health services to cloud servers. After that, I built a cloud-based sales analytics pipeline for a major postal service, helping them gain valuable insights about seasonal trends from their data warehouse.
2021 - 2022
London
I decided to leave the consulting world behind to focus on longer-term tech-for-good projects. I joined BridgeU and applied my cloud skills to building web scrapers and data pipelines in GCP to create a large catalogue of international universities and courses. I went on to migrate the company’s recommendation system infrastructure from GCP to AWS.
2022 - 2023
I later became the Data Tech Lead at BridgeU. My responsibilities grew into architectural design of the recommendation systems, APIs, and data warehouse on BigQuery. I also trained the small Data Team in coding best practices, cloud deployments, and API design.

Then space was calling me...
2023 - 2025
Glasgow, Scotland
Having had the strong desire to work in the space industry, I moved to Glasgow to join Spire Global’s Payload team which designed and operated instruments for GNSS Radio Occultation and Reflectometry on low-earth orbiting nanosatellites. I built automations on the payloads to collect and process valuable weather & climate data for clients like NOAA, NASA, and EUMETSAT.
2025 - 2026
Scotland (Remote)
I went back to doing more AI-related stuff and shifted my focus towards Applied Computer Vision. At Protex AI, I wrote software for IoT devices installed in warehouses and factories to detect potentially dangerous situations and ensure workplace safety. I partly experimented with Vision Language Models and implemented algorithms for long-term event tracking, privacy zone blurring, and fall detection.

After some self-reflection, in March 2026, I went back to the field of Weather & Climate by learning modern tools & techniques in mapping and remote sensing. I am currently open to projects in climate monitoring, renewable energy transition, and earth observation.
My “Extra-curricular Activities”

(I can also flip pancakes)
I go on long hikes, walks, and runs. I love outdoor activities, especially anything involving mountains, snow, or forest trails. You can find my old travel photos in The Wide Traverse.
I’m a big reader of books about space, tech, geopolitics, and history. I also collect paper maps (coz they’re awesome).
I enjoy calisthenics (the going-upside-down parts) and waddling around the swimming pool.
I love learning new languages. I can speak English, Filipino, Japanese, some conversational Spanish and Russian, and a smattering of Norwegian and German.
I love cooking and baking. But really, I just love food.
